MPCA Launches Web Presence!
The Morris Park Community Association is pleased to announce the launch of our internet presence. With this page and the creation of http://www.morrisparkca.weebly.com we plan to keep our neighborhood and the world up to date on MPCA meetings and events within the Morris Park Community.
The MPCA Neighborhood Link is for YOU, the residents of Morris Park and our Association Members. Please take advantage of the site features: There is a discussion forum for all residents to voice and share ideas, opinions and complaints, as well as just meet each other. There is also an easy way for you to create your own homepages, and share photos or personal events such as birthdays with your neighbors. You may also use this site to post your local garages sales, property for sale or rent... This site is just what it claims to be your Neighborhood Link!
Feel free to email us any ideas on what you'd like to see included on any of our World Wide Web pages!
Good News for MPCA Patrol
Over the past 6 years, Rep. Crowley has secured major federal funding to help Morris Park prevent crime, protect quality of life. These funds have been used to purchase patrol cars, secure radios for foot and vehicle patrols, and expand community service activities.
This March, Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-Queens,Bronx), Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx, Westchester), Councilman James Vacca (D-Bronx) and other local community leaders presented the Morris Park Citizens Patrol this week with an additional $15,000 in Federal anti-crime funds. The Federal funds have been awarded to the Morris Park Citizens Patrol to continue their on-the-ground efforts to combat graffiti and crime in the area.
Congressman Joseph Crowley, "Together we celebrate the outstanding commitment by the Morris Park Citizens Patrol to improving the quality of life in our community. I am proud to have secured more than $57,000 over the past 6 years to support crime prevention and anti-graffiti programs being conducted by the Morris Park Citizens Patrol. I thank Senator Klein, Assemblywoman Rivera, Councilman Vacca, and all the Bronx leaders who joined us in standing united against crime and vandalism in our community."
Senator Jeff Klein, "Keeping our communities strong starts by keeping them clean. When we see graffiti we need to immediately remove it and send a message that we will not tolerate the destruction of our streets. That's why I'll continue to fund the only free graffiti removal service in the Bronx, and why I applaud Congressman Crowley's outstanding dedication to our shared goal."
Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera, “The Morris Park Patrol has become an intricate part of our fight against crime. Knowing that the volunteers take their job seriously is deserving of all recognition. I commend Congressman Joseph Crowley in joining our efforts to ensure a safer neighborhood for all our children, and for ensuring that programs such as this continue to operate adequately.”
Councilman James Vacca, “The Morris Park Citizens Patrol provides an essential service to its neighborhood by helping keep the streets safe and secure. I commend Congressman Crowley for consistently helping these selfless volunteers continue their patrols and purchase the equipment they need to protect their neighbors.”
MPCA Helps a Young Resident...
The Morris Park Community Association (MPCA) are proud to announce the launch of MPCA Members, AnnaMaria DiNofrio, and Mark Anthony's campaign to help Morris Park resident, Nadia Uddin & her Family. They have worked hard to garner the support of local businesses. Delgados, a local Karate School, is offering a special deal on classes in support of Nadia. Containers donated by our local Utz distributor, J&D Snacks are placed around town. Utz chips also donated by J&D Snacks are being sold in support of Nadia at P.S. 83. We anticipate the participation of the entire community and hopefully the world!
AnnaMaria and Mark Anthony efforts to support this young neighborhood girl will also include a future event at Nadia Uddin's school, P.S. 83 in the Bronx, NY; a kidney drive; possible raffle: They will not stop until they help Nadia and her Family through this crisis!
Most Importantly, Nadia needs a kidney! We look forward to everyone joining this community in its support on Nadia and her family!
There is more about Nadia's plight in Bronx Times Reporter, March 27 and Bronx Times, May 1!
